Total War: Shogun 2 is a strategy video game developed by The Creative Assembly and published by Sega. It is the latest installment in the Total War series in a 16th-century Japan setting. The game was released on 15 March 2011.
I didn't like Shogun 2 due to several reasons:
- There are only nine factions to play as.
- There is a limited variety of units to use in battle, especially naval battles.
- The whole game is slow paced and seems too calculated at times.
- There is a lot of waiting involved; AI moves take a while, creating or building things take several turns.
- The beginning of new games are very rigid and unchanging.
This game got great reviews, but I've tried it and don't think I will buy anymore games in the series.
What are some of your least favorite PC games? Why did you dislike them?

Alex, impressive work on your blog so far. Your posts seem to thoroughly cover every topic you write about. As far as Shogun 2 goes, I feel that it is very interesting that they base the setting in a real historical era. Does any of the gameplay actually pertain to real historical events? Or does the setting in 16th century Japan only serve as the backdrop for fictional events? As far as my PC gaming history goes, I have little to none. I once bought one of the games in the franchise, but I remember not ever really getting in to the game. Other than that, I have never played a PC game before. I am much more of an XBox 360 player. Why do you feel PC gaming is better than using a console? Again, good work Alex! Looking forward to your next post.
Shogun 2 sounds like a horrible game! Why would anyone ever play such a game? I guess the company got initial attention from the first one and everyone thought hte second would be just as good. Well they thought wrong! If I were to play video games, this would not be my game of choice. Enjoy the blogging!
